How To Work With Me

If you subscribe to the philosophy of exercise described on this site and would like to join the coaching, here is what that process looks like:

  1. You will first join and pay. It is $299/mo. (This price may increase in the future, however it will never increase for current members of the coaching.)
  2. We will then have a phone call where I can get to know the particulars of your situation such as: what equipment do you have to work with, how many days per week of exercise is your goal, what your past exercise experience has been, how familiar you are with certain exercises, if you have any limitations, etc.
  3. I will then put together your first month’s workout program. This program will be delivered to you on a free app called Trello. Why Trello? Well, this is what I have been using personally and I have never found a better app for the program. I have looked at about 15 different “training apps” that are designed for personal trainers to use with their clients. They have all been much too complicated and actually get in the way of training, rather than make it easier. If you have never used this app before, it functions much like having a row of index cards. Super simple and easy.
  4. We do your workout program together when you receive it.  We get on a conferencing app like What’s App video call, or Google Meet, where you can see me performing the exercises and teaching you how to do it.  I will then have you perform each exercise after me so that I can make sure you’re performing it properly.   On the 2nd day, we will have another video call where I can make sure you still have the techniques down pat and make corrections to your form as necessary.   You will complete your daily workout for the remainder of the month on your own,  with the Trello app giving you these exercises in a list to make it easy.   You can also write questions you have about any exercise and I’ll be able to answer it there as well.
  5. If we need to have another phone call during the month, that’s fine too. I want to see you successful. I want you to achieve your goal of exercising consistently for one full year. I want to help you overcome any obstacles that come up. There is absolutely NO reason why you cannot reach your goal, so let me help you when you need it!
  6. The 2nd month I’m going to tweak your workout program. You will be doing a different exercise for almost every muscle, but still hitting the same 11 muscle groups. Some muscles like calves and traps have only one or two real options, so they will stay the same for the most part. But every other muscle group (Quads, Glutes/Hamstrings/Low Back, Biceps, Triceps, Deltoids, Abs, Obliques, Chest, and Back) have multiple variations or completely different exercises that can be done.  Of course, we are going to spend the first 2 days together again, so that I may instruct you on the exercises and watch your form as well.
  7. The 3rd month I’m going to give you a different program again, as we mentioned above. This is to teach you different exercises for the same muscle groups. I am helping you build a “library” of exercises and workouts that you can use for the rest of your life.   And as usual, we will first do the workout together.
  8. The 4th month you will get a different routine again. We want to keep mixing it up like this so that your body is exposed to more variety and you don’t get stale.
  9. The 5th month you will again have a different program to work. A few exercises will be the same, but any place there is room for variety we are going to add that in. Some muscles have different angles they can be worked from and it’s good to learn exercises that can come at things from different angles to stress the muscle in a different way. Also, many muscles will have for example, “The Top 15 Exercises You MUST Do For Your Shoulders!”. Well, in reality, perhaps 6 of these are truly great, so we want to learn and use all six. Whatever is superior we want to know and use. Why settle for anything but the best?
  10. We will keep working like this all the way through month 12.

Each month you will have a daily habit of making a big yellow X with a highlighter over each day on your calendar that you exercise.

At the end of each month you will count your X’s and put it at the bottom of your calendar.

So after all 12 months have gone by, you will get your monthly totals and add them up for the year.

If you worked out every other day, you will have 180 “X”s. That will mean your body is totally different than when we started together.

You may have been someone that worked out 4 or 5 days per week, in which case you will have 200+ workout days completed.

No matter where you fall on the continuum, if you were not exercising before we worked together, you will be much much farther ahead than if you continued to neglect your body.

Everything about you will be stronger… muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones. Your body will have a base layer of strength that you can build upon at any time, as long as you simply keep doing even the minimum (3 days per week).

You will be able to keep this up for the rest of your life; there is never a reason to fall off the wagon. The system you will have learned is too easy, too simple, and too quick to allow any excuse to derail it. It will take only a moderate amount of self discipline, not a ton. It takes only a moderate amount of willpower, not a ton. It takes only 15 minutes, not an hour. It takes just a normal amount of energy, not a power surge, to get through the workout.

And you will love the difference it has made to your body. You will not want to lose those benefits when keeping them is this easy.

And if you want to continue working with me month after month, that’s fine too. I am definitely down to work with you (as long as you weren’t a complete brat to work with, lol) and I can keep you on track and keep you maintaining and progressing your body so that you can always be proud of not only what you’ve accomplished with getting stronger, but knowing that you’ve made a promise to yourself and have been keeping it. Nothing works on your self esteem quite like keeping the promises you’ve made to yourself.

To join the monthly coaching program as outlined above, the monthly cost is $299/mo. and the payment recurs automatically each month. We will be in this together for a year. After the first year, the monthly subscription will continue on a month-to-month basis, and you may discontinue your subscription at any time by giving 14 days advance notice.
